Jersey fabric is the choice for this design because it is uncomplicated, easy-care, great for travel and has the feel of luxurious silk.  I have used horizontal seams which create seamless lines on stretchy fabric.  I have used a stabiliser in the shoulder seam to avoid stretch in that area.  A fusible stretch interfacing has been used on the back and front-facing as an additional layer that improves the fit and adds firmness. I have used a stretch lace fabric for the sleeves which draws out the decorative pattern on the skin.  Black is a heavy colour that has been softened by using stretch lace. This is a very versatile top that can be styled for various events and creates many different looks.
 
Each garment is designed and made by me using traditional sewing techniques.
