When I came across this Seigaiha pattern I was immediately taken in by the beauty, monochromatic colour, and simplicity of the print. Seigaiha means blue wave of the sea, and the repeated motif signifies the wish for a long and calm life, just as the constantly repeating gentle waves of the pattern. Simple graphic prints are the easiest to wear and mix.
This dress is trans-seasonal and can be worn with a solid colour top underneath during the winter months. I have used four pleats (two on each side) at the back and front skirt panels. Pleats allow the fabric to bloom out as well as allow the wearer greater comfort eliminating fabric strain. The pleats are narrow and situated on the sides highlighting the waist and minimising those problem areas around the mid-waist area. The dress is fully lined with an invisible zip at the back.
Each garment is designed and made by me using traditional sewing techniques.
